The Deck is, at heart, a control deck with a reanimator sub theme. It wants to focus on drafting removal spells, high toughness creatures, and a few ways to loot; also known as drawing and discarding cards. It wants the game to go long, usually to the point when the opposing deck is out of actions, then you reanimate or cast a high converted mana cost bomb. Zombies help this, because they often can die, but come back, or help create board stalls.
Cards to look out for are 2 for one spells. Snapcaster Mage lets you Double Play a removal spell. Enter the God-Eternals mills, kills a creature and gains you life. Murderous Rider kills something, and gives you a great creature too. Finally look for big game winning spells like Sheoldred, Whispering One or Rise from the Tides.
Afterlife Flashback
Adding Red allows for the ability to really dive into using the graveyard as a second hand. Red boasts lots of flashback and recursion cards such as Shreds of Sanity, as well as a ton of ways to dig into your graveyard like Faithless Looting. Burning Vengeance gives your deck a powerful field control boost.
